You aren’t religious? / CFCC
The Center for Civil Courage is starting its third project ‘Freethought Academy’ (for children) which will, through lectures and workshops, present critical thinking and human rights together with feministic and humanistic values.
Since we are freethinkers, we are alarmed by the religious worldviews that influences our children. Thus we have decided to give our children the right tools in the form of freethinking workshops. In beautiful surroundings by the river Kupa, in the village Luka Pokupska, the children will learn about humanism and an irreligious worldviews.
In such natural surroundings, the children will meet peers and other families who also believe that morality is based on human nature, on the human society and on human experience while it is not imposed by omnipotent and supernatural beings.
While the pupils are engaged and busy in their workshops, the parents can relax and find company and refreshments on the terrace. Younger children can play in the meadow near the house. On warmer days all the children can happily dip in the pool. On colder days a warm fireplace/stove keeps the house warm.
In their parents’ presence, with their peers, expert lecturers in the fields of physics, chemistry, humanism and human rights; by using creative activities that develop creative thinking, the children will be given the right tools to think rationally about the world.
The Little Celebration
Our first workshop will start on 28th April 2013 under the name: Little Celebration; it will be dedicated especially to children who won’t have confirmation, as an initiation to the world of humanism with the celebration in their honour.
Days of Reason
The following workshops will continue in spring and summer.
